Omanbapa Ghana Ltd Hosts Strategic Partner EWIS Colombo Limited on Landmark "Built in Africa" Technology Mission

 

Omanbapa Ghana Ltd has welcomed its strategic technology partner, EWIS Colombo Limited of Sri Lanka, to Ghana for a five-day technical and economic mission aimed at advancing the proposed "Built in Africa: Computer and Laptop Assembly Ecosystem Project".

 

The visit marks a significant milestone in Omanbapa's vision of supporting Ghana's digital transformation agenda through local technology manufacturing, skills development, innovation, and job creation.

High-Level Engagements Underway

As part of the second day of the mission, the EWIS delegation, together with Omanbapa Ghana Ltd, has held a series of strategic meetings with key government stakeholders to discuss collaboration opportunities and the future of technology manufacturing in Ghana.

 

1. Technical Presentations at Omanbapa Ghana Headquarters

The visit commenced with an introductory meeting and technical presentations at the Omanbapa Ghana Ltd Head Office in Gbawe, Accra.

The session provided an opportunity for both organizations to exchange technical insights, discuss manufacturing capabilities, and outline a roadmap for the proposed Built in Africa initiative.

The delegation subsequently met with the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, at the Ministry of Education.

Discussions focused on the transformative potential of locally assembled computers and laptops in supporting Ghana's educational sector, expanding digital access for students, and strengthening technology-driven learning across the country.

The delegation also presented sample laptops and technology solutions for consideration within the education ecosystem.

The meeting explored strategic opportunities for collaboration in technology manufacturing, digital innovation, workforce development, and positioning Ghana as a regional hub for computer and laptop assembly.
